Pocketpair just dropped what might be Palworld’s most unexpected collaboration yet. The Home Sweet Home update went live today, December 17, bringing the ultra-violent world of Ultrakill into the creature-collecting survival game with some genuinely wild crossover content that nobody saw coming.
Blood-fueled robots meet adorable pals
The Ultrakill collaboration is the real star here. Players can now deck themselves out as V1 or V2, the game’s iconic blood-fueled robots, complete with armor sets that unlock through the Technology menu. But it’s not just cosmetic—the update brings signature Ultrakill weapons that actually change how combat feels in meaningful ways.
The Marksman Revolver includes that infamous coin toss mechanic called Ricoshot, letting you flip a coin mid-battle and shoot it to ricochet bullets toward enemies. It’s every bit as flashy as it sounds, and watching your shots bounce off coins to nail hidden Pals behind cover never gets old. The mechanic can even deflect enemy attacks and explosives, adding a defensive layer to an otherwise aggressive playstyle.
The Core Eject Shotgun also made the jump from Ultrakill, giving players another aggressive option for close-quarters combat. These weapons work alongside improved melee mechanics for swords, katanas, and beam swords, which now feature consecutive combo attacks that make hand-to-hand fighting actually viable. There’s even a new special attack triggered by holding both mouse buttons simultaneously, rewarding players who commit to melee builds.
Building gets a major glow-up
True to the update’s name, base building received some serious love. Forty-eight new building pieces arrived, including the long-requested triangular components that open up way more creative freedom for architectural designs. The paint mode feature lets you customize structure colors across your foundations, walls, roofs, and stairs, so your base doesn’t have to look like every other player’s setup anymore.
The building UI got completely redesigned into a list-based system that’s way less clunky than before. Small quality-of-life touches like orientation arrows when placing structures and Cattiva icons showing work locations make the whole building experience smoother and more intuitive for both veterans and newcomers.

New raid boss and battlefield options
Hartalis, dubbed the “King of Salvation,” joins the raid boss roster as a level 65 challenge with a whopping 909,000 health. This two-phase fight starts with Hartalis as a Water/Grass type, then switches to Neutral after you drain its health bar once, essentially giving you two full boss fights back-to-back. It’s brutal, requiring top-tier gear and high-level combat Pals to stand a chance.
The update also introduces dedicated raid battlefields. Instead of always defending your base during raids, you can now choose to fight in a separate arena through the Summoning Altar. It’s a smart addition that protects your carefully designed headquarters from getting wrecked during intense battles.
PC players get Steam Workshop support
In a move that’s bound to extend the game’s lifespan significantly, Palworld finally added official Steam Workshop support for PC players. This has been one of the most requested features since launch, and it means mod creators can now easily share their creations while players can download and test mods with just a few clicks. Important note: mods aren’t allowed on official servers to maintain fair play, so stick to single-player or private sessions with friends if you want to experiment.
The Home Sweet Home update positions Palworld nicely heading into 2026, when the game’s full 1.0 release is planned. While it’s lighter on raw content compared to previous major updates like Sakurajima, the focus on refining existing systems and adding experimental features like PvP tools shows Pocketpair is thinking long-term about the game’s future.
