The wildest isekai premise in recent memory is officially getting another round. Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ confirmed on September 17, 2025, immediately after the Season 2 finale aired, that Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon will return for a third season.
The announcement came with a celebratory illustration showing Boxxo and Lammis ready for more dungeon-crawling adventures, giving fans exactly what they wanted: confirmation that this bizarre concept still has plenty of gas in the tank.
The absurd premise that actually delivers
At first glance, an anime about a guy reincarnated as a vending machine sounds like the kind of joke premise you’d see mocked online. But here’s the thing, it actually works.
The series follows Boxxo, a vending machine enthusiast who dies in a traffic accident (involving a vending machine, naturally) and wakes up as a sentient vending machine in a fantasy dungeon.

He can’t move, can’t speak beyond pre-recorded phrases like “Thank you for your purchase,” and is basically stuck until Lammis, a super-strong but clumsy young hunter, finds him and decides to carry his 500kg frame on her back.
What makes the show surprisingly engaging is how it takes this absurd limitation and turns it into creative problem-solving. Boxxo dispenses food, supplies, and even uses explosive reactions between products to fight monsters.
The chemistry between him and Lammis carries the story, and the show leans into the wholesome friendship angle rather than trying too hard to be edgy or ironic about its own premise.
Season 2, which ran from July to September 2025 with 12 episodes, kept that momentum going and apparently did well enough to warrant an immediate renewal.
The team behind the madness
Jun Fukuyama voices Boxxo, bringing the same energy that made him iconic as Lelouch in Code Geass, while Kaede Hondo plays Lammis with genuine warmth. Both are confirmed to return for Season 3, along with the animation studios and likely director Takashi Yamamoto, who took over for Season 2.

Crunchyroll has been streaming both seasons with subtitles and an English dub, making it accessible for international audiences who want to experience this truly unique take on the isekai genre.
The source material is a completed web novel by Hirukuma that originally launched in 2016. Interestingly, the light novel adaptation was canceled after just three volumes, but the anime’s success brought it back to life, a rare case where the adaptation actually saved the source material.
With the full story already written, there’s a clear roadmap for where Season 3 can go, meaning fans won’t be left hanging with an incomplete adaptation.
No release date has been announced yet for Season 3, but the quick confirmation suggests production is already underway. If the previous seasons’ schedules are any indication, expect more news throughout 2026.
