Season 2 left fans on a cliffhanger
Season 2 finished strong on September 21, 2025, adapting the manga up to chapter 86 with gorgeous animation and those heartfelt moments between Gojo and Marin that made us all emotional.

The production reality check
Here’s where it gets tricky. The manga concluded in March 2025 with 115 chapters, leaving about 29 chapters unadapted, enough material for another full season or maybe a movie.
CloverWorks took almost three years between Season 1’s finale in March 2022 and Season 2’s announcement in September 2022, finally airing it in July 2025.
Following that same pattern, we might not hear anything official until mid-2026, with a potential release around 2027 or 2028.
The series has everything going for it: over 15 million manga copies in circulation, killer streaming numbers on Crunchyroll, and a passionate global fanbase.
Even a live-action drama aired late 2024 keeping the hype alive. But the anime industry’s been leaning hard into theatrical releases lately, so there’s chatter about a finale movie instead of a traditional third season.
That could wrap up Marin and Gojo’s story with movie-budget animation quality, though some fans worry it might rush the romance that deserves time to breathe.
