PlayStation officially confirmed today that State of Play is returning this Thursday, February 12 at 2 PM PT / 5 PM ET / 11 PM CEST, bringing over 60 minutes of news, gameplay updates, and announcements from game studios across the globe.
The livestream will air on YouTube and Twitch in English, with subtitle options available, and promises to spotlight eye-catching third-party and indie games headed to PS5, along with the latest from teams at PlayStation Studios.
The longest State of Play yet
This February broadcast marks the longest State of Play event to date, clocking in at over an hour of content. That’s a significant jump from previous showcases, giving Sony plenty of runway to feature multiple major announcements and deep dives into upcoming titles.
The last State of Play took place in November 2025, but that one was focused exclusively on games from Asia and Japan.
PlayStation’s confirmed 2026 first-party lineup already includes MLB The Show 26 launching March 17, Bungie’s Marathon arriving March 5, and Housemarque’s Saros hitting shelves April 30.
Insomniac’s Marvel’s Wolverine is also expected later in 2026, with a recent PlayStation Store listing suggesting a Q3 release window between July and September. Arc System Works’ Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls rounds out the confirmed Marvel projects, scheduled for sometime in 2026.
Any of these could get extended gameplay reveals or release date confirmations during Thursday’s showcase.
What to expect
While Sony remains tight-lipped about specific announcements, the gaming community is buzzing with predictions.
Marathon and Saros seem like safe bets given their spring release dates. Marvel’s Wolverine could finally get its official launch date after months of speculation, with September looking increasingly likely based on store listings.
The newly announced Horizon Hunters Gathering, Guerrilla’s co-op action game revealed just days ago, could also make an appearance to showcase how its three-player tactical gameplay works. With 60+ minutes to fill, there’s room for both expected reveals and complete surprises from third-party and indie developers worldwide.
One important note for content creators: PlayStation warned that the broadcast may include copyrighted music outside their control, which could interfere with co-streams or VOD archives. They’re advising creators planning recap videos to omit any licensed music tracks.
