The eden Switch emulator scene just got a serious upgrade. Eden officially released its stable v0.1.0 version, packing UI improvements, regression fixes, and a bunch of performance tweaks that make some games finally playable without the usual headaches.

If you’ve been following the emulation community, you know this kind of stability release is a big deal, especially after months of beta testing and user feedback.

Performance gets real improvements

The standout feature here is the significantly reduced memory synchronization and DMA operation overhead. Translation? Games that rely heavily on data transfers between CPU and GPU, like Luigi’s Mansion 3, now run smoother.

Desktop users with Sync Memory Operations enabled should notice immediate performance gains, though Android devices might see more modest improvements. Eden’s team also optimized shader compilation speed on lower-end systems, which means less stuttering during those first few minutes of gameplay when shaders are building.

One interesting change: Fast GPU Time on 128 is gone. Turns out it was actually tanking performance on many games instead of helping, so now only 256 and 512 options remain. Sometimes less really is more.

Graphics and compatibility fixes

The renderer got a complete rework for ExtendedDynamicState and related extensions. If certain games didn’t work properly before with these settings, Eden’s developers are basically saying “try again”.

Metroid Prime 4 benefits from new GPU-accelerated texture unswizzling options that fix graphical bugs, while Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition and Pokémon Scarlet/Violet got fixes for graphics-related performance issues.

Android users running Qualcomm chips, whether on phones or Windows ARM laptops, will appreciate improved rendering on stock drivers. Games like Link’s Awakening, Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe had specific bugs squashed.

The team also fixed that annoying issue where MK8DX could randomly turn into a psychedelic mess of colors or flicker intermittently.

Quality of Life updates across platforms

Desktop users can now change save data locations and see their actual game title in Discord Rich Presence instead of just “Eden”.

The controller limit bug affecting more than 4 simultaneous connections is fixed. Android got a Quick Settings menu during emulation, custom path settings ported from desktop, and fixes for overlay-related touchscreen issues.

One underrated addition: Eden now implements GetSystemInfo, making it behave closer to a real Switch. This means certain mods designed to disable themselves on Yuzu-based emulators might actually work properly now. Plus, firmware 21.1.0 stubs were added, potentially improving newer games that require updated firmware.

The emulator also added a toggle to remove bloom and blur effects from certain games, perfect if you’ve been playing Burnout or the chibi-style Zelda titles and wanted cleaner visuals.

Player selection can now be skipped on games that forcefully select another user, making Alien Hominid and certain Jackbox packs playable without creating multiple profiles.

Eden v0.1.0 represents months of refinement condensed into one stable package. Whether you’re running it on a high-end PC, a Snapdragon X laptop, or an Android device with Turnip drivers, this release brings tangible improvements.

The emulation community moves fast, but stable releases like this remind us that sometimes it’s worth waiting for the polish.
