The anticipated Call of Duty film adaptation, announced just last month, has secured its creative leadership. According to Deadline’s report, the project will bring together Taylor Sheridan and Peter Berg—two heavyweights with impressive Hollywood credentials.
A proven creative partnership
The partnership between Sheridan and Berg isn’t new territory. The duo previously collaborated on Hell or High Water in 2016 and Wind River the following year, where Berg took on producing duties. Berg’s resume includes notable work as a writer on the beloved football series Friday Night Lights, while Sheridan has been riding high on the success of Yellowstone, alongside his involvement in series like Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, and Tulsa King.
For Paramount’s gaming franchise adaptation, both creatives will share producing and writing responsibilities, with Berg also stepping behind the camera as director.
With the creative team freshly assembled, details about which chapter of the wildly successful Call of Duty universe will be adapted remain under wraps. Given the track record of Sheridan and Berg’s previous collaborations, a modern-day setting seems like the natural choice, though fans will need to exercise patience before any official announcements about the storyline or cast members surface.
