The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild gets the vinyl treatment

Fans of Hyrule’s sweeping landscapes and atmospheric melodies have something special to look forward to. Nintendo has joined forces with Laced Records to bring The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s beloved soundtrack to vinyl, and they’re doing it in style with not one, but two distinct releases.

The ultimate collection for Die-Hard fans

For those who want the complete auditory journey through Hyrule, there’s an impressive box set featuring eight full-length vinyl records. This comprehensive collection doesn’t hold back—it captures practically every musical moment from the game, from the softest piano melodies to the ambient sounds of wind sweeping across the kingdom. The package includes 130 freshly remastered tracks that have been carefully curated to reflect how players experience the game itself.

The eight records are thoughtfully organized around key gameplay themes: wandering through the vast Kingdom of Hyrule, liberating the Divine Beasts from the clutches of Calamity Ganon, and uncovering the secrets hidden within the ancient Shrines. It’s essentially a sonic roadmap of Link’s entire adventure.

The presentation is equally impressive. The set comes housed in a special collector’s case and includes 16 art prints showcasing memorable moments from the game. You’ll have a choice between limited-edition colored vinyl or classic black vinyl, depending on your preference. The price tag sits at $195, which works out to roughly $24 per record—not unreasonable considering what you’re getting.

A more accessible option

If eight records feel like too much of a commitment, there’s also a streamlined double-LP version available. This release features 34 carefully selected tracks that highlight some of the game’s most iconic moments, including the enchanting Great Fairy Fountain theme, the intense Hyrule Castle music, and various other standout pieces from different locations. Priced at $50 and available in both black and colored vinyl variants, it’s a more wallet-friendly entry point for collectors.

Pre-orders and availability

Both versions are currently available for pre-order through Laced Records and the My Nintendo Store, though you’ll need to exercise some patience—shipping won’t begin until June 19, 2026.

A rare physical release

This release marks a significant moment for Nintendo music fans. Physical soundtracks from Nintendo games have been notoriously hard to come by outside of Japan, making this one of the first major releases of its kind in Western markets.

Interestingly, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild might seem like an unconventional choice for a vinyl debut. Unlike other games in the series, its soundtrack is celebrated more for its ambient, atmospheric qualities than for catchy, hummable tunes. The game’s composers—Manaka Kataoka, Yasuaki Iwata, Hajime Wakai, and Soshi Abe—crafted a soundscape filled with delicate piano melodies, natural environmental sounds, and dynamic battle themes. That said, sprinkled throughout are a few truly memorable tracks that stand out as genuine highlights.
