Nintendo just dropped the official details for Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park, and honestly, this isn’t just a simple port with prettier graphics.
The game’s getting a whole new area designed specifically for multiplayer chaos, hitting shelves on March 26.
The headline feature here is Bellabel Park, a brand-new zone that basically transforms Wonder into a party game powerhouse.
Think of it as Nintendo’s answer to the question nobody asked but everyone secretly wanted: what if Super Mario had its own multiplayer hub? And before you roll your eyes at another remaster, the amount of new content actually justifies the “Edition” label this time around.
Bellabel Park brings the multiplayer heat
Bellabel Park isn’t some tacked-on bonus level. It’s got 2 main plazas packed with attractions that let you either team up or go head-to-head with your crew. The Local Multiplayer Plaza alone features 17 different attraction types, supporting up to 4 players on a single console.
Activities range from Fast Cash: Tip Tap’s Coin Spree, where you’re basically scrambling to grab more coins than your friends, to Knock ’em Back: Bubble Blaster, which turns into a lives-based survival brawl.
Here’s where things get interesting: Nintendo’s leveraging GameShare, meaning one person with the game can share it locally with up to 3 other players who don’t own it. No downloads, no purchases needed for your friends.

The Game Room Plaza takes this further with wireless local and online play, letting up to 12 players compete across 6 additional attractions, each on their own screen. It’s the most social Mario has felt in years.
Fresh modes and Rosalina’s Flower Kingdom debut
Beyond Bellabel Park, the Toad Brigade Training Camp offers skill-based challenges pulled from the main campaign. These unlock as you progress and support up to 4 players, complete with leaderboards for the competitive types.
There’s also a new Assist Mode that lets newcomers bounce back from falls without losing lives and avoid damage entirely, basically accessibility done right.
The biggest character addition? Rosalina finally shows up in the Flower Kingdom, bringing Luma along for the ride. Luma actively helps take down enemies and collect coins, and you can control the little star using the Joy-Con 2’s mouse mode.
Speaking of which, Nintendo’s really pushing that mouse functionality here, slide the Joy-Con sideways on any flat surface and boom, precision controls.
Oh, and the Koopalings are back as special enemies who’ve stolen treasures from Bellabel Park, triggering direct boss fights when you track them down. It’s a neat way to integrate classic villains into the new content without feeling forced.
The extras and upgrade path
Nintendo’s also releasing new amiibo figures of Elephant Mario, Poplin & Prince Florian, and Captain Toad & Talking Flower alongside the game.
Plus, there’s a physical Talking Flower product dropping March 12 that reacts to temperature and time of day, which sounds equal parts adorable and unnecessary.
If you already own Super Mario Bros. Wonder and grabbed a Switch 2, you can snag an upgrade package through My Nintendo Store and the eShop instead of buying the full game again. Smart move for early adopters.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park proves Nintendo still knows how to breathe new life into recent releases without it feeling like a cash grab.
Between the mouse controls, GameShare functionality, and genuinely substantial new content, this is shaping up to be the definitive version of an already excellent platformer.
