PlayStation’s Hyperpop collection drops March with three neon PS5 designs

Sony's neon gradient controllers and console covers bring Techno Red, Remix Green, and Rhythm Blue to PS5 setups starting March 12

PlayStation revealed on January 7 the Hyperpop Collection, bringing three bold neon designs to DualSense wireless controllers and PS5 console covers launching March 12, with pre-orders opening January 16 at 10am local time.

The collection features Techno Red, Remix Green, and Rhythm Blue, each sporting glossy black bases that gradually shift into vivid neon tones, designed to stand out in any gaming setup.

The Hyperpop Collection takes inspiration directly from RGB lighting commonly found in modern gaming spaces. According to Leo Cardoso from PlayStation’s Color, Material, and Finish design team, this lineup doesn’t just complement your setup, it dominates it.

We’re cranking the volume all the way up with a collection that doesn’t just stand out, it takes over the room“, Cardoso explained.

His colleague Sae Kobayashi added that both controllers and covers feature seamless gradients across their surfaces with a high-gloss finish that makes colors pop even more, while the console covers include subtle transparency for extra flair.

Limited availability

The Hyperpop DualSense controllers will retail for $84.99 USD, maintaining all standard features including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.

The matching PS5 console covers carry a slightly lower price tag at $74.99 USD, though there’s a catch: covers will only be available in limited quantities in select markets and are designed exclusively for PS5 Slim.

Original PS5 and PS5 Pro owners won’t be able to customize their consoles with this collection, which has been a recurring theme with Sony’s recent accessory launches.

Pre-orders kick off January 16 at 10am local time through direct.playstation.com and participating retailers across the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

The full collection ships starting March 12 though exact availability may vary depending on your region.

Techno Red, Remix Green, or Rhythm Blue: Pick your track

Each colorway in the Hyperpop Collection offers a distinct vibe. Techno Red brings bold energy with crimson neon bleeding into jet black.

Remix Green delivers a fresh, standout aesthetic perfect for those seeking something different from typical gaming color schemes.

Rhythm Blue keeps things locked in with cool tones fading seamlessly into darkness.

Whether you’re building a coordinated setup or just want your controller to match your gaming chair’s RGB strips, the Hyperpop Collection gives you options to personalize your PS5 experience while keeping that sleek, modern look Sony’s been pushing since the console’s 2020 launch.
