Petals of Reincarnation drops April 2026 release date and new trailer

All-star cast and Attack on Titan composer bring historical legends back to life

HIDIVE and Pony Canyon confirmed this past weekend that Petals of Reincarnation (Reincarnation no Kaben) hits screens in April 2026, bringing a stacked voice cast and some serious musical firepower.

The announcement came with a fresh promotional video featuring the opening theme “Glitch*” by singer eill, setting the tone for what looks like a wild ride through reincarnated genius.

Legendary talents get voice actors to match

The newly revealed cast brings together some of anime’s heaviest hitters to voice historical figures reborn.

Haruka Shiraishi (Asirpa from Golden Kamuy, Fumino Furuhashi in We Never Learn) takes on A. Einstein. Kaito Ishikawa, known for voicing Tobio Kageyama in Haikyuu!! and Genos in One Punch Man, plays I. Newton. Reina Ueda (Kanao Tsuyuri in Demon Slayer, Ganyu in Genshin Impact) voices F. Nightingale, while Marina Inoue (Armin Arlert in Attack on Titan) brings Jubei Mitsuyoshi Yagyu to life. Rounding out the “Forest of the Greats” founding members is Shugo Nakamura (Ryota Miyagi in The First Slam Dunk) as Hiroshi Funasaka.

The production comes from BENTEN Film under director Shun Kudou, who previously worked on Grendizer U.

The real attention-grabber here is composer Kohta Yamamoto handling the soundtrack, the same talent behind Attack on Titan The Final Season and 86: Eighty Six, which basically guarantees the music will hit hard.

Past lives, present problems

Based on Mikihisa Konishi’s manga, the story follows Toya Senji, a student stuck in his talented brother’s shadow. Everything flips when Toya discovers he can tap into his past life’s abilities through something called a “branch of reincarnation.”

Problem is, he’s not alone, other “Returnees” walking around with the skills of history’s greatest minds have way bigger, way more dangerous plans in motion.

The setup promises the kind of power-scaling chaos anime fans live for, mixing historical figure abilities with modern-day conflict. With that voice cast and Yamamoto’s compositions backing it up, Petals of Reincarnation could be one of spring 2026’s breakout hits.
