The upcoming fantasy anime Okiraku Ryoshu no Tanoshii Ryochi Boei (Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord) just dropped its third promotional trailer, and it’s shaping up to be one of the more intriguing light novel adaptations hitting screens early next year. Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures confirmed that Prime Video subscribers will get early access on January 7, 2026—three days before the series begins its Japanese TV broadcast.
A talented voice cast takes the stage
The new trailer introduced four additional cast members who bring some serious credentials to the table. Leading the newcomers is Makoto Furukawa, whose voice you’ve definitely heard if you’ve watched One Punch Man (Saitama) or Kaguya-sama: Love is War (Miyuki Shirogane). He’ll be voicing Ortho Sheet, and honestly, his range makes him perfect for whatever role they’ve got planned.
Joining him are Wakana Kuramochi as Purriel, Motoaki Sato as Xara, and Nonoka Obuchi bringing Lada Priora to life. What’s particularly cool about Obuchi’s involvement is that she’s pulling double duty—not only voicing a character but also performing the ending theme “Make it,” which you can hear in the latest trailer. She mentioned being genuinely moved by the warmth of the characters when she read the source material, which suggests the series might have more heart than your typical fantasy fare.
What we know about the story
The original web novel by Sou Akaike started serializing on Shousetsuka ni Narou back in May 2020, and it follows an optimistic lord who just wants to live peacefully. The twist? He uses “production magic” to transform a nameless village into the strongest fortified city around. It’s an interesting premise that flips the typical power-fantasy script—instead of conquering kingdoms, our protagonist is apparently more interested in good infrastructure and a quiet life.
Studio NAZ is handling the animation under director Tetsuya Tatamitani (Africa Salaryman), with Takayuki Kuriyama as series director and Shingo Nakamura on character design. The production lineup suggests they’re aiming for something with personality rather than just another generic isekai.
