Leon and Grace amiibo coming this summer for Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom brings the survival horror franchise to the amiibo family for the first time, with both figures unlocking exclusive weapon skins when they drop this summer.

Capcom officially unveiled the first-ever Resident Evil amiibo during Nintendo’s Partner Showcase on February 5 giving fans a first look at figures for both Grace Ashcroft and the legendary Leon S. Kennedy.

These two figures mark a historic moment for the franchise, as Resident Evil has never received the amiibo treatment in its nearly 30-year history.

The announcement came alongside new gameplay footage of Resident Evil Requiem, the upcoming survival horror title launching February 27, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The Leon amiibo shows the DSO agent holding his hatchet, dressed in his trademark tactical gear in all black, while Grace appears in a casual outfit with a backpack. Fan reactions have been mixed, with some pointing out the figures look a bit rough compared to other amiibo releases and the more detailed statues Capcom has already shown off.

Grace’s figure seems to have gotten better feedback than Leon’s, which fans described as looking “really, really rough” and a little off overall. No pricing or exact release date has been confirmed yet, though both amiibo are expected to launch sometime during summer 2026.

Weapon skins and in-game functionality

Scanning either amiibo into Resident Evil Requiem will unlock exclusive weapon skins that can be changed in the Bonus Settings menu.

During the Partner Showcase, Capcom previewed Leon’s weapon skin: a wild neon blue-and-red coating for his revolver. It’s bright, showy, and definitely not the kind of thing you’d want during your first survival horror playthrough, but perfect for subsequent runs when you’re ready to have some fun.

Grace’s weapon skin hasn’t been revealed yet, though fans are speculating it might be more subdued to match her survival horror-focused gameplay style, as opposed to Leon’s more action-packed sections.

Two protagonists, two gameplay styles

Resident Evil Requiem introduces two playable characters with drastically different gameplay experiences.

Grace Ashcroft, a young FBI analyst, delivers pure survival horror as she navigates Raccoon City 30 years after the original outbreak, dealing with scarce resources and relentless zombies while confronting tragic memories surrounding her mother’s death, Alyssa Ashcroft.

Leon S. Kennedy, the veteran DSO agent and Raccoon City survivor, brings pulse-pounding action and gloriously over-the-top sequences as he investigates a new string of deaths in the Midwest. Players can freely switch between first and third-person perspectives throughout both campaigns.

This marks Capcom’s strongest support for a Nintendo console in years, with Resident Evil 7 and Village Gold Editions also launching on Switch 2 the same day as Requiem.

The game will also receive a branded Switch 2 Pro Controller on February 27, designed to look like a newspaper clipping in controller form.
