The beloved tank-warfare anime franchise is taking a breather from battlefield action to showcase its lighter side. Girls und Panzer: Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu! has just unveiled a fresh 60-second trailer and promotional artwork for Part 2, scheduled to roll into Japanese theaters on January 30, 2026.
A different kind of battle
This four-part film series shifts gears from the franchise’s signature intense tank battles to focus on the everyday comedic moments fans rarely get to see. The new trailer gives us a glimpse of what the crew gets up to when they’re not commanding Panzers, featuring relaxed poolside scenes with Arisu and the gang that prove these tank commanders know how to have fun off the battlefield.
The preview also treats fans to the film’s ending theme, “Oyasuminasai no Tsuzuki Desu!”, beautifully performed by Mai Fuchigami, who voices protagonist Miho Nishizumi. It’s a sweet touch that captures the more intimate, character-driven nature of this spin-off.

What makes this spin-off special
Based on Nii Marco’s official manga that’s been running in Monthly Comic Alive since 2013, this adaptation explores the daily school life and interactions of the characters in Oarai, Ibaraki Prefecture. While the main series delivers adrenaline-pumping Senshado (tank warfare) action, Motto Love Love Sakusen Desu! dives into the relationships and slice-of-life moments that make these characters so endearing.
Fans catching Part 1 in theaters are being treated to exclusive bonuses, including original manga illustrations by Nii Marco himself, a nice incentive for those who want to support the theatrical release.
This spin-off proves there’s more to Girls und Panzer than just tactical warfare. Sometimes the best moments happen when the tanks are parked and the characters can simply be themselves.
