Toei Animation is ready to spill fresh intel on Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, the enhanced remake that’s been turning heads since its January reveal.
The Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 website confirmed a special panel dedicated to the project on April 19 at 1:15 PM PST, promising the latest updates on this technical overhaul of the franchise’s God of Destruction arc.
The 20-minute presentation will take place during the two-day event at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall, running April 18-19.
While guest speakers haven’t been announced yet, fans are betting on executive producer Akio Iyoku making an appearance, especially after he dropped the bombshell at January’s Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event.
Given the panel’s runtime, speculation is pointing toward a brand-new trailer showcasing the visual leap from the 2015 original series.
This isn’t just a remaster
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, set to hit screens in Fall 2026, is being billed as an “enhanced edition” rather than a simple HD upgrade.
Toei Animation’s taking no shortcuts here: extensive new animation cuts, complete scene revisions, full re-rendering of existing footage, freshly recorded voice acting with updated score and sound effects, and a total story reconstruction.
The project reportedly started years ago with one goal—fix the visual criticism that plagued Dragon Ball Super’s initial run and deliver Akira Toriyama’s original vision with 2026 technology.

The remake kicks off with the Battle of Gods arc, where Beerus awakens from his long slumber after dreaming about the Super Saiyan God.
Earth becomes his next target after hearing rumors of a Saiyan who defeated Frieza, putting Goku and the Z Fighters on a collision course with the universe’s most powerful destroyer. The enhanced visuals promise to elevate the high-stakes battles while staying faithful to the core story fans already know.
What’s next for Dragon Ball
The announcement comes alongside major franchise moves, including Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, a sequel adapting the Moro arc, and Dragon Ball: Age 1000, the new game dropping in 2027.
While Toei Animation has only officially confirmed the Beerus saga for the remake treatment, industry whispers suggest this enhanced approach could extend through the Future Trunks arc, though nothing’s set in stone yet.
Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 will stream live on the official YouTube channel, making the panel accessible worldwide.
With the franchise celebrating its 40th anniversary and multiple projects in the pipeline, April 19 could be the day we finally see just how much better those Goku vs. Beerus battles can look with modern animation tech.
