The conquest of the human world (and one teenage boy’s heart) begins this spring.
The official website for the anime adaptation of nonco’s manga Mistress Kanan is Devilishly Easy (Kanan-sama wa Akumade Choroi) revealed its key visual, musical artists, and official premiere date this past Tuesday: April 4th.
Rock band Faulieu. will perform the opening theme “Hatsukoi Moment” (First Love Moment), while VTuber group Asagiri Koukou tackles the ending theme “Pop, Snack, Junk na HUNNY.”
Powerhouse voice cast brings the chaos
The anime secured some serious talent.
Aoi Koga, who voiced Kaguya Shinomiya in Kaguya-sama: Love is War and Komi Shouko in Komi Can’t Communicate, leads as demon girl Kanan Takakiyo. Seiichiro Yamashita, known for playing Cid Kagenou in The Eminence in Shadow and Kakeru Naruse in Orange, voices Yoji Kyogi, the unlucky human who becomes her accidental boyfriend.
The supporting cast is equally stacked.
Sayumi Suzushiro (Nijika Ijichi in Bocchi the Rock!) plays Jeanne, Maki Kawase (Junko Konno in Zombieland Saga) voices Ami, and Ayaka Nanase brings Nadeko Masurao to life. Fuka Izumi, fresh off her role as Utena Hiiragi in Gushing over Magical Girls, plays Milch Zebul, with Hikaru Tono as Miel Zebul and legendary Yoshino Nanjo (Eli Ayase from Love Live!) voicing Lilim Zebul.
Studio KAI takes on demon high school shenanigans
Studio KAI handles production under director Yasushi Muroya, who previously worked on BASTARD!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy-. Rintaro Ikeda supervises the series scripts, while Akari Minagawa designs the characters.
The story follows Kanan, a demon who infiltrates a human high school with one goal: devour delicious souls.
There’s just one problem, before she can properly hunt her target, she accidentally becomes his girlfriend, throwing her straight into the chaotic world of teenage romance.
Turns out demons aren’t exactly prepared for first dates, hand-holding, and all the messy feelings that come with human relationships.
With its April 4th premiere approaching, Mistress Kanan is Devilishly Easy promises a fresh spin on the demon-meets-human romance formula, blending supernatural chaos with high school comedy.
The combination of Studio KAI’s animation, an all-star voice cast, and nonco’s original manga vision should deliver something genuinely entertaining.
