Nintendo and The LEGO Group announced that brick-built furniture, decorations and clothing are coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons as part of the massive free Ver. 3.0 update launching on January 15.
The collaboration brings LEGO-themed items purchasable through Nook Shopping with in-game Bells, marking the first time these two iconic brands merge directly within the game.
Building your dream island with bricks
The LEGO collection includes a wide variety of furniture pieces, beds, workbenches, tables, chairs, fireplaces, plants, sofas, and even wallpaper.
Players can also dress their villagers in LEGO-branded t-shirts and other clothing items. What makes this collaboration stand out is the customization: each item comes in multiple color palettes including classic bright LEGO colors, pastel pink schemes, clean white options, and sleek monochrome designs.
Players can mix and match pieces to create their perfect brick-based aesthetic.
This crossover follows the physical LEGO Animal Crossing sets launched in 2024, which featured buildable versions of iconic game locations like Nook’s Cranny and characters such as Tom Nook and Isabelle.
Now the cycle comes full circle, LEGO brought Animal Crossing to life in bricks, and Nintendo is bringing bricks into the digital world of Animal Crossing.
Part of the massive 3.0 update
The LEGO content arrives alongside Ver. 3.0’s flagship feature: Kapp’n’s Family Resort Hotel on the pier, where players help decorate guest rooms and earn Hotel Tickets to unlock exclusive items.
The update also introduces collaborations with The Legend of Zelda and Splatoon through amiibo support, bringing themed items and new villagers like Zelda’s Mineru and Tulin, plus Splatoon’s Cece and Viché.
Nintendo Switch Online members will even get access to playable retro Nintendo consoles placed as furniture, including the NES, Game Boy, and Super Famicom, complete with classic games like Ice Climber, Dr. Mario, and F-Zero.
Additional quality-of-life improvements include expanded storage up to 9,000 items, bulk crafting, and Resetti’s island cleanup service.
Ver. 3.0 is the first major content update since Ver. 2.0 launched in November 2021, which Nintendo had announced at the time as the final planned update.
This unexpected return to New Horizons four years later has generated massive excitement across social media, with fans celebrating the game’s revival alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition release.
